Indigenous tribes are invisible to most Russians. During the Soviet period, most indigenous languages were supplanted by Russian. Some of these languages now have only a few native speakers remaining.
In 2018, an AI algorithm was developed to learn and preserve the three most endangered languages. Special tools were created to assist in teaching future generations.
Paid media reached 35 million people. Social media, press, TV shows, and news reached an additional 70 million people. The country kept talking about the disappearing languages for 9 weeks.
